About Us
- Our Story -
Ryans Honey Farm is run by Gerry and Mary Ryan. They are passionate beekeepers and have been keeping bees for over 20 years and at their peak they managed 80 hives in many varied apiaries.
After many years of study under the Federation of Irish Beekeepers Associations (F.I.B.K.A.) examination system in the art and science of bees and bee management, they gained the proficiency required to be certified as federation lecturers in Apiculture. They went on to give many years teaching beekeeping skills through lectures, beginners courses and workshops with local beekeeping clubs and at Gormanston Annual Summer Course (including many administrative roles in the successful organisation of the course).
They have been instrumental in promoting beekeeping by holding annual beginners courses for those wishing to learn and Gerry continues to travel around the country giving lectures on honey and beekeeping.
They are members of Federation of Irish Beekeepers Associations (F.I.B.K.A.) with Gerry having formerly served as Vice-President and President of the Federation.
